This bridge is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is located in Smicksburg, Indiana County.
Original plans included replacing the concrete bridge deck, jacking the existing steel beams and replacing bearings, as well as replacing and repairing parts of the steel superstructure and repainting the existing steel. However, magnetic particle testing indicated significant cracks in the steel girders which warranted a complete replacement of the superstructure. Once the new deck was complete, it was overlaid with PPC (Polyester Polymer Concrete)
This project was completed in June of 2021.
